Introduction
OpenNote is a multiplatform note-taking application available on Android, iOS, Desktop, and Web. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled when you use OpenNote.
Data Collection
OpenNote currently operates without internet access and does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
All notes and content are stored locally on your device.
If you choose to enable optional features in the future (such as cloud backup, synchronization, or account-based services), we will collect only the data necessary to provide those features, such as your email address and note content.
How Your Data Is Used
Currently, your data is used only locally within the app.
If optional features such as sync or backup are enabled, your data will be used only for:
- Syncing notes across your devices
- Providing backup and restore functionality
- Maintaining app performance and reliability
We do not sell or rent your personal data.
Ads & Monetization
In the future, the free version of OpenNote may include advertisements.
Advertising providers may collect limited information such as device identifiers, IP address, and app usage data to display relevant ads, in accordance with their own privacy policies.
The premium version of OpenNote will remain ad-free.
Data Storage & Security
Currently, all data is stored locally on your device.
If cloud features are introduced, we will implement security measures such as encryption in transit (HTTPS) and secure storage practices.
Permissions
OpenNote currently requires minimal or no permissions.
Future features may require:
- Internet access (for syncing and backups)
- Storage access (for saving and loading notes)
- Media access (for attachments)
Permissions will only be used for core functionality.
Third-Party Services
Future features may rely on trusted third-party services for syncing, backups, or ads. These services will be used only to support app functionality.
Children’s Privacy
OpenNote is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
If we become aware that personal data from a child has been collected without parental consent, we will delete it.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, update, or delete your data.
If account-based features are introduced, you will be able to request deletion of your data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of OpenNote after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
